In Geography with Ms Farell, the year 3/4 students had to research a neighbouring country to Australia and then find the differences and similarities. They were then asked to present these projects wearing a traditional costume and also provide a tasting plate of food. The children showed enormous enthusiasm and interest in learning about a different country. The students research skills were put to the test, using the computers and varied resource books. The standard of their project work and oral presentation has to be commended as it was the first time the year 3 students had done a presentation like this, in front of a captivated year 5/6 audience. Once the students finished their presentations we shared the tasting plates with everyone. Mr Williams, the Campus Co-ordinator, arrived at just the right time to taste the many foods including some tropical kiwi fruit from New Zealand and some Nasi Goreng from Indonesia. The students looked amazing and put so much effort into their presentations - Countries which our students studied were Papua New Guinea (Danella & Greta), Indonesia (Shirlene and Tiarni), East Timor (Wade & Leighton), New Zealand (Jack & Oakland) and the Pacific Islands (Indi & Danika).
