The Brisbane Campus Year 3 and 4 students enjoyed a day of cultural enrichment when they visited the Ngutana-Lui Indigenous Centre in Inala.
The children were treated to lessons on boomerang throwing and indigenous storytelling, as well as dot painting and weaving. We particularly enjoyed our bushwalk through the grounds surrounding the centre, and learned a lot of interesting information about natural resources for food and medicine, as well as using plants and animals for objects such as spears, musical instruments, bowls, and baby rockers. Everyone at the centre was incredibly knowledgeable and made us feel very welcome. A special thank you to Gwenda Taylor, Lindal Muller, Leah Miller and Deb McGregor for driving for the day and helping out with the activities.
